Scholarships and Grants
It was the goal of the individuals who founded the Tolland County Agricultural Center, Inc. in 1956 to be able to provide an oasis in Tolland County focusing on agriculture and family and homemaking. Since then, many things have changed. However, the one that has remained the same is the desire to continue to provide a place where education in agricultural programs and family and consumer sciences are made available to all.
In 2007 the Tolland County Agricultural Center, Inc. Board of Trustees expanded this goal further by establishing a scholarship fund now known as the Memorial Scholarship Fund.
This fund provides scholarships for Tolland County students who are planning to further their education in an agricultural or family and consumer sciences fields. The 2007 budget allocated $500.00 and each of the members pledged $50.00 to the scholarship fund.
Now, annually the Tolland County Agricultural Center offers one or more scholarships to Tolland County graduating high school seniors or already enrolled college or continuing education students. The application is due in April each year. Once submitted, the candidates applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee of the Board of Trustees to determine which student best represents the mission of Tolland County Agricultural Center.
A great foundation has been established for this fund but with your help, we can continue to support our youth in the field of agriculture so that we continue to enjoy the benefits of agriculture in the future. If you would like to contribute to the Tolland County Agricultural Center Scholarship fund you may do so by submitting the Scholarship Contribution form. We are a 501c (3) non-profit organization.
